Troubleshooting
"Authentication failed" error
- $Verify your PEM key matches what's in ~/.ssh/authorized_keys on your server
- $Ensure the key type (Ed25519/RSA) is supported by your server
- $Check that the SSH username is correct
"Host fingerprint mismatch" warning
- $This means the server's identity has changed since your last connection
- $This could indicate a server reinstall or, rarely, a security issue
- $Verify with your server provider before accepting the new fingerprint
